Brief Description:  Fuse/CB panel (cont)

I got the the top and bottom bracket nutplate angles adjusted in position and ready to lock them in by riveting them in place on the main angles. I marked the rivet holes on each nutplate bracket and match drilled and riveted the angles. I then countersunk the main bottom angle and dimpled the fuse side skin. Unfortunately I wasted about an hour and a half because on the third dimple using the rivet hand pull dies, the nail head broke and the male die went flying and it took that long to find it!!!!

I completed the dimples being wary not to have another lost die. After all the mechancical work was completed I worked on a pattern. It was a challenge in itself as none of the sides of the panel are perpendicular. It took several iterations of patterns until I came up with the perfect fit using poster board. Now to mark and cut the real thing. I will leave a little extra for adjustment when cutting the panel. I have some .040 aluminum that I plan to use.
