I got the 1 1/4 inch by 1/16 inch piece of aluminum to make a sanding stick and transferred the emery cloth to it. It worked fantastic! I worked the top sides of the fairings and leveled the sides to the best I possibly could and called them finished. I installed the fairing back on the airplane.
I then mixed up a batch of micro and slathered the rear bow in order to blend in transitions for the rear skirt area.
I took the horizontal stabilizer out to the shop and sanded the micro that I laid down a couple weeks ago. The elevators and HS tips are done. Now I have to get working on the verticle stab and rudder caps.
