Brief Description:  Modify Anchor Block

I put a call in to Vans today about my anchor block. It appeared that when my canopy was in the forward position it was hitting the weldment on the WD-814 Windscreen Rollbar attachment point. When the wheels were contacting the rollbar flanges, there was still about 1/8" gap between the slide block and the anchor block. It is best that the two contact each other in order to have a positive stopping point of forward travel so I pondered several fixes but ultimately called to consult Vans.

The conversation with Vans seemed to point to the best fix was to just attach a spacer to the anchor block which was my number one fix I had in mind. So out in the shop to make the modification. It went well and I used a piece from the failed slide block #1 to make the spacer.

The spacer seems to work well. I had to slot it to allow the anchor pin to have clearance. Will attach it to the fuselage tomorrow.
