Brief Description:  Canopy Slide Cap and Spacer

Only had a limited time to work in the shop tonight but I wanted to get something done. I was able to get the center punch and punched all the hole locations along the slide cap. The Canopy Slide Cap gets drilled first and then is used as a template to transfer the holes into the Canopy Slide Spacer after making the bend in the cap to match the bend in the spacer.

I have a two center punch process I go through when marking holes. I first use a small very nice Starrett center punch because it is easier and nicer center punch to make the initial mark. Next I use the larger center punch to do a secondary punch because it is cheaper but has a more powerful spring....between the two it gives me a very nice drill starting divit.

I also decided to make a cutout in the canopy cap in order to easily take the canopy off without having to remove the empenage fairing or cutting the canopy rail assembly shorter as some do in order to anticipate having to remove the canopy for some reason.
