Short session of simply begining to lay out the bracket to mount the Emergency Locator Transmitter in the airplane. The ELT is used to locate downed aircraft. The ELTs used to be based on sending out a radio signal that seach and rescue would use equipment to home in on the radio signal to locate the downed aircraft.
The new generation unit you see in the photo below uses GPS positioning that sends out the location. Using these new units substantially increases the accuracy of locating downed aircraft meaning response time is drastically cut down to help occupants of the downed aircraft.
