Brief Description:  Elevator tips sanding / throttle cypher

I spread out the work today. I started by spreading Evercoat filler on the elevator tips. This product was recommended to me by Rick and Rob who have been local mentors during my build. The problem is that when you use micro it sands flush but it doesn't sand smooth. There is a texture in the micro that shows through the primer. Evercoat covers that texture and the pinholes that are the bane of fiberglass finishing.

So I ordered some from Amazon and it came in. The elevators were as far as I could go with micro and the sanding complete it was time to apply the Evercoat. I applied a coat to both elevator tips to get the final imperfections dealt with. Evercoat dried relatively fast.....as a matter of fact so fast that the first batch I made was only half used before it had hardened to the point of being unuseable. So I mixed more and went through the learning curve process of doing something new. Then I just let them sit and dry.

During the course of working the elevator tips I began the process of working and designing my interior consoles. After flying Twitter for four years I really became accustomed to and enjoyed Rick's design of the larger arm rest and throttle position that was in his RV8. Rob gave me Ricks old side panel template that Rick had given to him years ago....so it has been sitting in my stash and now is being used to plan my consoles. The work session involved cypherin....that is measuring and holding the throttle quadrunt up and just getting a plan of action in my head....that was the most of it....then back to sand the elevator tips. Still a productive day!
