Brief Description:  Attaching the HS

After adjusting the F811 I was ready to set up the HS and clamp it to drill. I took my time and made sure that all was set just right. There are four measuring parameters that are importand. First you want to be sure the HS is centered on the fuse using the split lines of the rear spar. Secondly, it was making sure the HS is perpendicular to the fuse using a common point on the fuse to measure. I used the rivet on the turtle deck smack dab on the centerline of the rear seat bulkhead. Third, there is a need to be sure that the HS is set at "0" incidence angle. And forth, is to be sure that the HS is set level over the span of the spar left to right. Whew....I measured and checked over and over again to ascertain all was good......now it is time to drill!

I found drilling the HS with the turtle deck on posed some challenges....just took a little more time and stratagizing. Brought the angle drill through the fuse to be able to drill HS-814 fwd attach bolts. Have to take a "mow the lawn" break....will drill later.
