Brief Description:  Drill elevator horns

Not a long work session but performed a critical function. I drilled the left and right elevator horns. To do the job many times a bushing is used to keep from marring the bearing in the center bearing assembly. A #2 four inch centerdrill did a beautiful job. Since it is precision ground it fit perfectly in the bearing. I drilled at a slow speed and it worked absolutely fantastic!!! In no time I had both horns drilled.

I did adjust the elevator rod ends out to the max because many times if they are on the minimum side of the tolerance they tend to line up the bearing with the horns in such a way that the holes are drilled very close to the horn tubes. I read several post on blogs that showed that the nut was hard to get on or had very little clearance after the holes were drilled. By adjusting the rods to the max side of the tolerance the holes came out in a great location.
