I received the new rudder skin from Vans. A $70.00 mistake chocked up to builder carelessness and stupidity. The rudder skin is thin and has to be handled carefully. There is a lot of work to prep the skin and deburr it to get it ready for assembly. Drilled all holes, removed blue plastic protective coating. The coating is a chore in itself....while it works fantastic as a protective coating to keep the aluminum mark free....but it takes real care to remove or while pulling it off the skin you can bend and deform the skin. Anyway....deburred the skin, drilled out holes to proper size, and dimpled all holes. Skin is ready to install stiffners!!! Enough for now....that will be next session....gulp!!!
