Brief Description:  MAP Sensor-restrictor

I wanted to get the MAP sensor installed or at least located before I settled on location for the shunt/ANL. The MAP sensor line needs some sort of restrictor in the line otherwise the engine pulses can result in an erratic manifold pressure reading. Some builders have installed a restrictor at the engine, but I made a restrictor to go in the other end. This way it is not possible for the restrictor to get sucked into the engine. I squeezed an AN470AD5 rivet until it was a press in fit for the AN fitting with a hose connection. I went thru 5 rivets until I got the right length and proper amount of squeeze to fatten it up. I found you need a fairly short rivet, otherwise it tends to clench over. After I got a good press in fit, I drilled a #60 hole thru the rivet. I assembled the fittings and sensor—now I’ll decide on placement on the firewall.
