I’ve been out flying for the last week. Today, I got back in the shop and added brake lines from the Grove gear to the Matco brake calipers. I used stainless braided lines from Van’s (part number VA-102). These are fuel lines, but other builders are using them for the brakes. I had hoped to come up with a line so that I could remove the caliper without removing the wheel. I used a steel 90 degree fitting in the bottom of the Grove leg, and a steel 45 degree fitting in the caliper. The caliper is not removable, because the fitting in the caliper and the brake line won’t clear the pant bracket. So, I tried a 90 in the caliper, thinking I could route a shorter line around the back of the caliper and come into the leg with a 45, but a 45 degree fitting in the bottom pointed to the rear won’t clear the caliper either. So, I’ll live with what I’ve got. After I got the lines done, I set the fuse on the wheels and installed the tail spring and wheel . I rolled the fuse out of the shop for some pics.
