Brief Description:  Upper brake lines-Grove gear

My goal tonight was to get the short brake lines from the bottom of the towers connected to the upper Grove gear. I thought this would be a 20 minute job—wrong! I had put some masking tape over the fittings—didn’t have any little plastic plugs. Well, it took some time to get the glue off of the fittings. I installed the small lines and finger tightened the fittings. Marked a line on the fittings—planned to use the flats method to tighten—method II—1/4 turn-then I added another 1/8 turn. Great plan, but could barely fit a wrench in the small openings. Was able to tighten less than a quarter turn. The open end wrench was to wide—dug thru the tool box looking for an old 9/16” that I cut grind down to fit in the recess. Then I came across some flare nut wrenches I had for plumbing—the 9/16” fit perfectly. Later on, after adding brake fluid, I’ll know for sure if the fittings will or will not leak.
