Brief Description:  Mystery holes!

Under the outboard wear plates there are 2 holes on each side. An observant builder on VAF inquired about them and it was determined that the QB fuselages need to complete a step referenced much earlier in the manual. I drilled these holes up to #19 in several steps, then countersunk the holes for an AN509-8R12 screw. Installed the aft screw on the right side, then installed an AN509-8R8 screw thru the side of the fuselage—as called for in the drawings. However, it is too short—no threads showing past the nut. So, I replaced it with an AN509-8R10. Now the end of this screw is just touching the nut on the screw installed up from the bottom. Arrgg!
