Brief Description: Drilling inboard bracket-right side
Started drilling the inboard brackets tonight. These holes are pretty close to an angled portion of the gear weldment. Drilling went ok—until just after the bit cut thru the last part of the weldment. It takes a lot of pressure on the drill and the final push the bit hit the piece of wood taped to the weldment and snapped off the bit. Dang—was planning on drilling at least 4 holes tonight—double my previous two sessions. Instead, I drilled half as many! I’ll pick up a couple of bits today and get the holes drilled next session. I opened up the holes in the skin that covers where the ¼” bolts will fit thru the outboard wear plate. From previous builders logs, it was noted the aft pre-drilled hole is not centered over where the bolt will actually reside. I offset it about 1/8”—came out centered over the proposed bolt location.
