Brief Description:  Outside skirt finishing-6

Late last night, I sanded the glass tape along the rivet line on the right side. When removing the peel ply, it also pulled off the tape along the diagonal down tube line--will have to sand and add more tape to that area. Then I mixed up batch of micro and spread over the remaining tape area. Early this AM, I sanded the micro using about a 1 foot long wooden block wrapped with sandpaper—feels so much better—the rivets had pulled the skirts down much more than the clecos had, thus leaving a wavy feeling along the rivet line. The sanded micro seemed to take care of this problem. I shot a coat of sanding primer on the right skirt. Mixed up some resin and wet out more of the thin glass tape which I added along the rivet lines on the left skirt and the diagonal down tube on the right side—then added some peel ply. On the right skirt there was about a 12” length on the upper lip that had a few pin holes. I sanded this down and applied a coat of resin with a credit card—waited about 10 minutes and applied another coat. Later in the day, I lightly sanded the upper lip as well as the lower area of the skirt where I had primered the sanded micro.
