I drew some lines on the CS654-1 canopy latch arm where I thought the hook on the arm should hook over the nub on the roll bar. Drilled a 1/16” hole in the arm centered where it will latch over the nub. Looks pretty close, so I drilled it up to ¼”, then trimmed the sides. I smoothed up the cut on my band sander, then re-assembled the latch handle and arm assembly. Fit seems ok—it pulls the canopy forward only very slightly. Much of what I’ve read on VAF and builder’s logs indicate putting too much strain on latching the canopy may result in undue stress on the canopy itself. Now I need to locate a bushing for the outside where the shaft sticks thru the skirt.—1 hr.
