Sanded the bottom of the skirt and shot a coat of sanding primer. Sanded it down—looks good, not great, but then no one can see the underside anyhow. Shot a coat of NAPA primer. Flipped the skirts over and sanded the top side—need to fill some low areas. After the primer on the underside had dried, I clecoed the skirts back to the frame. The fit was better than I expected—I can sure live with it. Sanded the top a bit more, then mixed up some micro and applied the low areas. When dry, I sanded again—will this ever end? Masked off the area and shot a coat of sanding primer. There are still a few areas that need some fill, but it is looking better. Next up--more sanding and filling. Also need to shape contour over rail just a bit more.
Sanding aft end
Sanding primer applied
Think I can live with this fit of skirts over rail
