Brief Description: Liquid shim-aft skirts 3
|
|
Well, it just is never quite good enough to call it done. So, I sanded the aft area and clecoed the skirts back to the frame. I discovered it didn’t fit quite as well as before I added the filler micro. Removed and heavily sanded the new micro. Added the skirts back, removed, sanded more etc. After about 4 of the add, remove, sand sessions, finally got it to fit much better. Still had a slight gap on both sides for about 5” on either side of the slide rail. I laid down some packing tape and mixed up some micro. Applied to the areas with the gaps and shut the canopy. I also wet a single layer of glass which I added across the back end that humps over the slide rail. Later, after everything had set up, I removed the canopy, trimmed off the excess micro and sanded both sides. I mixed up another batch of micro to smooth the edges on the bottom of the skirts and coated the outside very aft end.
