Brief Description:  Prep inside of skirts for paint-3

Sanded the inside of both skirts once again. Taped off the edge that will get Sika and the lower edge where I plan to glue on a strip of felt. Shot both skirts with sanding primer. After the primer dried, I used a 400 grit sponge to slick the primer up. I can still see areas that need more work. It looks like there were some wrinkles or waves in the glass and then epoxy applied over the imperfections when the skirts were originally built—very hard to sand these out. I shot a coat of NAPA primer on one section to see what it would look like—does cover some of the imperfections, but not all. My patience is wearing thin with the finish on the inside of these skirts. May just glue cloth or leather to the panels to match the interior—not sure yet—but I can’t spent the next couple of months messing with the inside finish. So, while pondering this situation, I pulled out the motor mount and hung it on some ¼” bolts to see how close the alignment would be. As expected—not a great fit, but can probably muscle it into position.
