Brief Description:  Prepping inside of skirts for paint-2

Sanded the Super FIl previously applied to the edges of the fillets on both skirts. Also sanded the area where the micro build up on the bottom edge meets the glass—trying to smoothly feather the edge. I taped off a section between two of the fillets and shot it with sanding primer. Whoa—looks like crap! Pin holes, weave visible and generally not very smooth. I removed the primer with MEK, then sanded the remaining primer off. Mixed up some resin with a small amount of micro. I began applying to the skirt and spreading with a credit card. I was using a pop sickle stick to apply the mix to the skirt. Igot about 75% of the skirt done when I noticed the cup of micro was smoking—not good. The goop was cooked—I poured in a small amount of MEK and it began to boil. Thru the cup out the door into the yard-probably will have a spot of dead grass tomorrow. Since the resin cooked so fast, I mixed up some Super Fil and applied it to the inside of the other skirt. Tomorrow I will see whether the micro or Super Fil works best for filling pin holes and the visible weave. Doesn’t seem like much accomplished for 4 hours of work.
