Brief Description:  Canopy glue-1 cont.

cont---I used a caulking gun—takes lots of pressure to get the Sika 295uv glue flowing. We decided to only do the inside of the canopy tonight, then do the bottom and cosmetic coat tomorrow. That way we can work without the clamps in the way. As I injected the glue into the joint, Nancy smoothed the fillet. Tried a popsicle stick, but the wet finger method seemed to make a smoother joint. As soon as we finished one side, we pulled the tape from the canopy and the frame. The tape came off without issue leaving a clean line. Next, we did the opposite side and finally the front bow. Things seem to be going pretty well, so we did the outside of the front bow as well. Still had about 30 minutes, but decided we had done enough for tonight. Cleanup took a bit of time. Although we wore rubber gloves, the black goo seemed to get on everything in the shop! Dryng time is 24 hours so won’t remove clamps till around 9pm tomorrow. Hope it doesn’t go BOING!
