Got a late start in the shop tonight, but did get some work done. Sanded the right half of the canopy—followed the same procedure as I did on the left side. Smooth as glass! I removed the tape on the inside of canopy in order to mark where to I want to run the tape for Sika bonding and cosmetic lines. I’m now ready to set the canopy back onto the frame to mark these lines and also sand the front bow of the canopy. Before I did this, I checked the 2 lines of tape on the frame-wanted to see how easy the top layer would pull off of the bottom layer. Short answer-NOT! I used the same brand of 3m tape, but possibly due to high temps, the tape seemed fused together. Couldn’t pull the top layer of tape off without the bottom layer coming off also. When I removed the black tape from the blue painters tape inside the canopy, it separated without issue. May have to re-think what tape to use on the frame. I had hoped to glue the canopy tomorrow, but may not have all the prep work (re-tape) done. We shall see.
