Got the canopy positioned on the frame just where I think it needs to be. Clamped it in position with 1/8” spacers in between canopy and frame. Made several cuts near the front to clear forward top skin. Touched up relief cuts to insure no interference with the down tubes. I marked and cut about 1.5” off of the front of the canopy (had lots of overhang from shifting back to the front). After the cut, I placed the windscreen in position and marked a final trim line on the front of the canopy. Trimmed off approx. 3/8”. Sanded after each cut. Fit between the canopy and windscreen looks to be acceptable—have a few spots to sand down. Drilled #40 holes thru the canopy into the frame in 6 locations and clecoed. This allows me to cleco the canopy to frame and be “registered” in the same location each time. Removed the canopy/frame and set on the workbench. Received an order with my Sika materials. Also, was notified that my Grove airfoiled gear shipped! Whoo-hoo! Next up—trim bottom of canopy even with frame and prep for glue.
