Brief Description:  Canopy cutting-6

Made one final cut tonight. Windscreen fits comfortably against the roll bar. Per Ken at Van’s, the red lines on the front and rear of the canopy are something the canopy maker uses and is of no concern to the builder. The nose of my canopy is forward of the 3.25” reference line by ½”, but I’m going to leave it as is for now. When I get to fitting the windscreen, I can shorten the nose if there is an issue. I sandwiched the cardboard cutout between the roll bar and canopy front bow. Still need to clamp the sides prior to separating the canopy from windscreen. I have quite a bit of overhang at the rear, but rather than cut it, my plan is to slide the canopy forward after separation. This should make it easier to pull the sides in at the rear end—however, this means I will have to make another cut around the front of canopy, but have seen where others have done the same. Also, I have placed an order for all of the Sika materials. Next few weeks should be interesting-may have either a completed canopy or an open cockpit airplane!
