Brief Description:  Cutting canopy-2

More canopy cutting today. Since I am only going to cut the front and the back, instead of setting up the saw horses, I just set the canopy in the back of my pickup with the nose hanging over the tailgate--thought this would be less plexi chips/dust to clean up. I used a popsicle stick with a hole in it for a pen to draw a cut line in the front and the back. Saw this method on Bill Crissinger’s site—good tip—thanks Bill. I cut ½’ off the front and ¼” off of the back. Sanded with 100 and 180 grit. Trial fit to the fuse—marked and cut another 3/8” off of the front, sanded etc. Fit is getting closer down to the roll bar, but still has a ways to go. Wish I was smart enough to find a way to measure and make just one cut to lower to the roll bar—but I ain’t! Looks like the back end needs to come down quite a bit still. Fitting the canopy to the frame/roll bar seems to be a lot of cut it, sand it, check fit, mark it, cut some more, repeat, repeat etc. Rather a slow process, but one thing is certain—can’t put any back on once its cut off!
