Moved the canopy from my Mother’s garage to my shop tonight—this thing is hugh! Carefully removed the cardboard packing—and began trying to find a method to mark a centerline on the canopy. Measured over the top to the point where the sides meet the flange. Did this at four different locations, then stretched a string across all 4 points and marked the center at each end. I’m not real sure about this method—it’s close, but with the protective vinyl and pieces of packing tape, it is difficult to get an accurate measurement. Nancy and I set the canopy on the frame/fuselage. I lined up the points at each end of the canopy with the previously marked points on the fuselage. Sure looks like it lines up—think I’ll go with it for now, at least until I can find a better way to verify the centerline. Tomorrow the temp is supposed to be mid 90’s—good day to try my hand at cutting some plexi.
