Brief Description:  Canopy frame-top front skin

Removed rails and drilled aft holes to #19 in both the rails and the fuselage. Deburred all holes. Relieved a small area on the left side rail aft hole to allow the screw to sit flat against the rail (per the plans). Reinstalled rails. Final drilled anchor block/F807 bulkhead. Used screw dimpler (thanks Bill), to dimple the F807 for #6 screws. C/S the anchor block and counterbored the back side where the holes exited (used a 5/16” router bit). I don’t really like the fit of the nuts in the counterbored holes—may order another block and try again, this time using a 5/16” reamer for the holes. The router bit seemed like a good idea at the time—guess that’s why these planes are called “Experimental”! Installed the top front skin and as others have found, the rear portion near the roll bar needs to be trimmed a bit. I trimmed off about ¼”-this allows the frame to close. Will probably need to trim some more after the canopy is fitted to the frame.
