Finished inventory a few days ago and started on the canopy frame. What happened to the builders manual?? Started with the rear canopy slider. Manual basically says “build it”! Took nearly an hour to figure out where to even start. I began by removing a strip of blue vinyl down the back of the rear deck, stretched a string front to rear and marked a centerline. Then I used the band sander to remove a portion of material from the end on the C805 spacer—checked against the drawings and had the correct bend—at least close enough that I didn’t think I could tweak it any better. Drew a centerline on the C804 slide cap and laid out the 8 1/8” holes (will be 9, but last one is drilled later). Next I laid out the zillion 3/32” holes. I drilled a 1/16” hole in the aft end of the C804—later this will be a 1/8” hole (actually a #27 for screw attachment). I clamped the 804 and 805 together and match drilled the 1/16” hole thru the 804 into the 805—then drilled it up to #41. Followed this same procedure for 1/8” hole near the front just before where the bar makes a bend into the canopy receptacle. Took apart, center punched all markings, then drilled the holes in the 804 to 1/16” on the drill press. Clecoed the 804 & 805 together using the 2 previously drilled holes, then match drilled all holes to #41 on the drill press. After all holes drilled and clecoed, made a bend in the 804 to match the bend in the 805 slide spacer. Need to work this bend just a bit more, then drill the 2 holes near the end. There will be an additional hole is this area, but it will be drilled later.
