Brief Description: Rivet F-821-1 top forward skin-6
I received my order of Cherry Max rivets late yesterday. It took a bit of time to get them all installed—each 3/32 hole had to be drilled up to 1/8”, reamed to #30, c/s depth checked (I turned the de-bur tool couple of times each hole), dip the rivet in primer and use the pop rivet tool to set the rivet—move to next hole and repeat. I installed -4’s along the longeron over the gear towers and back to just aft of the instrument panel. I installed a couple of -3’s in the lower area of the baggage bulkhead. Then I installed some -5’s on the forward left side—these were already drilled for 1/8” rivets, so all I did for them was pass a #30 reamer thru the holes and install the rivets. There are about 12 rivets on the forward left side to set and 5 rivets on each side at the aft end of the skin. It’s beginning to take shape—can always tell the end of a task when the cleco bucket is almost filled up again. BTW, I used some draw clecos along the sides in various places to ensure the top skin was pulled very tightly against the fuse side skin. These are well worth the money spent.
