Brief Description: Installed screws thru fuse into gear weldments
Started on the screws that go thru the sides of the fuse into the gear weldments. I was able to hold the screws from the outside while torqueing the nuts on the inside. There are 17 screws per side—plans show to use -8R10 screws on 15 holes and -8R8 screws for 2 holes. After installing several 8R10 screws, I inserted an 8R8—looked like it was too short, so I used 8R10’s for all the holes. Finished the right side and part of the left side until I ran out of washers—must have used them somewhere else. I did leave one screw out on each side—looks like the bolt for the outboard forward gear attach bracket will need to be installed first. Will order some additional washers and finish up later this week. Next up—brake lines, parking brake etc. Got out the brake/rudder pedal assembly, fittings and lines.
