Began to fab a mount for the ELT (which I don’t have yet). I will install the mount in the bay just aft of the baggage compartment. I cut 2 pieces of ¾” angle approximately 9” long. Laid out and drilled holes to mount 4 nutplates. Laid out and drilled 5 holes which will be used to mount the angle pieces to the longerons. Clamped the angles to the longerons . Used the right angle drill attachment to match drill the angles to the longerons. Cut some poster board to use as a template for the mounting plate. I plan to use a piece of .040 sheet for the mounting plate. If the .040 plate appears too flimsy, I will add a stiffener down the middle or cut another plate from .063 stock.
