Brief Description:  Forward Baggage Door-Final?

Today was the day to rivet the F873B & C ribs to the door skin—and what a frustrating day it was. Put a small ding in the door skin on the first rivet. Found a better way to clamp the door to the work bench. Finished all but one rivet on the first side. The last hole of the rib has a small tab that overlaps the F973E outboard rib. Well, the shop head partially formed between the little tab and the inner rib. Drilled it out, but now the tab sticks up even more—crud! Moved to the other side, and drove 6 rivets, then put another ding in the skin. Tossed the bucking bar and gun on the bench and went to a movie. Fast forward about 4 hours-- back to the shop and finished driving all rivets on the second rib. Now back to the sticking up tab issue. Clamped everything together, used a piece of rubber tube over the rivet to push the tab down. %#$^, dinged the skin again and the shop head is not good. After some choice words, I examined the skin dings—they are minor and can be dealt with at paint time. I need to remove the bad rivet-again. Now the hole will probably need an oops rivet, but no better than the last 2 rivets set, I am not optimistic about a good outcome. May consider a cherry-max or CS4-4 for this hole. All in all, not my best building day.
