Tonight I installed the VS and snugged up all the bolts. Then began installing the rudder. Before hanging the rudder, I bent the hinge pin for the trim tab. Manual says a longer pin will be included in the fuselage kit, but I never found it. However, I did have some spare hinge, so I scavanged the pin from it. Tip for anyone reading ahead—don’t bother to torque the jam nuts on the rod end bearings—you will probably have to adjust the bearings when you hang the rudder. I installed and removed the rudder four times before I got the bearings adjusted for a very nice swing. Now, I’m ready to start filing the stops for travel limits.
