Match drilled all of the holes in the shelf and doublers to #30. Used a scotchbrite pad on the stiffeners and the mating surfaces of the baggage shelf. Then I used the pneumatic squeezer to dimple the stiffeners and the baggage shelf. For the hinge, I had planned to dimple the skin and c/s the hinge. However, the countersink cage would not clear the raised hinge eyelet. Next, I tried using the c/s without the cage on some scrap—didn’t really like that outcome. Decided to use NAS rivets and lightly c/s the skin with a deburr tool. Think this will work out ok. Got the shelf and the door hatch c/s for NAS rivets. Also found a slide latch online and got one on order. Am holding off dimpling the stiffener on the front side until the latch arrives in the event I need to modify the stiffener.
