Brief Description: C/S rear spar, begin tank test L wing
C/S the rear spar. Scuffed it up and shot a light coat of primer. Moved the wing back to the cradle and rigged up the manometer. As with everything else on this plane, the second time for a task seems so much simpler than the first. Poured water into the line until the levels were equal. Then I very slowly added a bit of air until I had 27” from level at the bottom of the tube to the level at the top. This should give about 1 psi. Moved on to the left outboard skin. Removed strips of vinyl along all rivet lines. Deburring is next. Checked the tank test about 6 hrs later-the level has gone up a couple of inches—just as the temp in the shop has gone up this afternoon.
