Brief Description:  Prosealed the L end plate/sender

Tonight was proseal time! Cleaned all the mating parts and screws with MEK, then mixed up the black goo. Just as every other builder has stated—the proseal gets on everything and won’t turn loose. Nancy took pictures and helped by holding the end plate while I spread proseal—using a syringe and also wooden sticks. I started with the anti-rotation bracket and fuel fitting. Gooped it up and popped in a couple of cherry rivets to secure the bracket to the tank end plate. Next I spread the proseal on the back side of the sender and secured with 5 socket head screws. I snapped the float arm into the sender. Then, I spread the goop around the mating surface of the end rib, stuck the end plate to the rib and added the screws. The proseal package states about 30 minutes working time—and that is fairly accurate. Also, found the little proseal packs that Van’s sells is just enough for one sender/end plate. As with many first time tasks, this was not nearly as bad as I thought it might be. However, still need to leak test the tank in a few weeks.
