Brief Description:  Finished Left Wing Conduit

Finished pulling conduit on left wing. I spent almost 4 hours getting the conduit installed in the closed portion of the wing. This is a HUGE task for the quick builder. The first few ribs weren’t too difficult, but the 4 ribs in the wing walk area were a real challenge. After getting the conduit thru the first wing walk rib and about a ½” thru the next I rib, I decided I had to find a different approach. I pulled the conduit out of the wing walk ribs, then wrapped a piece of emery cloth around the end of a drill extension and slightly opened up the holes in the 4 ribs. Began again installing the conduit. After I got to the point where I had a few inches out the end rib, I thought I would be done by at least next Thanksgiving. So, I grabbed my wife’s hair dryer and stuck it thru an inspection opening and pointed it at the conduit just entering the first wing walk rib. After a few minutes, I started pulling the conduit and it moved along quickly. I believe the heat made the conduit much more pliable. After I finished the conduit, I deburred all of the ribs in the open portion of the wing—much more fun!
