Back to the pitot tube. On post dated 2-11-11, I had match drilled the mast and pitot tube to #51. Tonight, I match drilled the four mounting holes to #36, then disassembled the mast and tube. Using a 6-32 tap, I cut threads into the base of the pitot tube. Then I drilled out the holes in the mast to 9/64ā and used my debur tool to put countersinks in the mast. Looks ok, however I did not drill one hole in the pitot tube base quite deep enough, therefore the screw is a fraction too long. I believe I can cut about a 1/16ā off of the screw for that hole and should be ok. Except for one screw being a bit too long, Iām ready to start mounting the mast to the wing.
