I cut an oval hole in the cap to the left side of center. Installed a rubber grommet in the hole, the installed the cap and rudder. Fed the wire thru the hole and out the back end. Rudder swings very nicely to the right, but I feel that there is too much bending in the wire when the rudder is deflected full left. I tried installing an adel clamp on the bottom bolt of the VS spar to move the position of the wire, but it didn’t help. I may try cutting the slot farther outboard and use a larger grommet. If that doesn’t work, I may glass the slot shut and cut out some of the glass I added earlier to seal the cap. Then add an adel clamp to one of the top VS bolts and bring the wire over the front of the cap—not what I prefer, but may be best solution.
