Brief Description:  Bottom rudder cap-8

Early this AM, I mixed up a batch of micro/resin and covered the glass insert in the front of the nose. Tonight I decided that the straw conduit was a bad idea—so I used an air tool with a rotary bit and cut it out of the inside of the cap. I mounted the rudder to the VS—looks like I need to trim the nose of the cap down a bit. Removed the rudder and trimmed the nose—probably will need to reduce the height a bit more, but will need to mount to the VS again to be sure. My current thinking is to run the light wire thru a grommet to be placed just outside the VS spar. This will allow removal of the VS without having to remove the wire. I also am thinking I will add a molex connector near the tail light. This should allow service of the light as well as a disconnect for rudder removal. Worst case is might have to remove the connector and pull the wire with pins out the front of the rudder cap. May be able to pull the connector thru without removal—we shall see.
