I mixed up a batch of resin and wet a strip of .003 thick glass which I then applied over the joint of the left HS tip. Then I applied a strip of peel ply over the wetted glass strip. I added some micro to what was left of the resin mix to make a thick paste. I applied this to an area on the right elevator tip that had some low spots. Will have to wait until tomorrow for everything to cure. I c/s the right HS tip and dimpled the HS skin. Hope to attach this tip next session. I also did some work on the rudder bottom. When I began fitting the bottom cap several weeks ago, I must have had a really bad case of brain fade. I cut the slots for the rudder horn perpendicular to the top of the cap—WRONG! So, ordered another bottom cap from Van’s and started over. This time I made a template from poster board and transferred the drawing to the rudder bottom. Need to verify a few measurements, then I am ready to cut the slot-again.
