Brief Description: VS & Rudder Tips-11, Elevator Tip-1
More sanding on the VS and rudder tip-thought they were in pretty good shape, so I taped off the rudder and VS and shot a coat of filler primer. This coat should show the high and low spots etc. YIKES! The tips were not near as good as I had thought. Looks like more fill and sanding in my immediate future. I also removed the wood block from the HS tip and sanded the aft end of the tip. Moved to the elevator tip. I sanded down the edges until the tip fit pretty well into the end rib. Taped the tip in position and match drilled thru the elevator and thru the fiberglass. Removed the tip and clamped in the backing strip. Used my Whitney punch to transfer the holes to the strip. I’ll get the other strip next session and glue them in.
