Brief Description:  Trim Tab Servo

L. Elevator—began trying to find a way of aligning the trim tab servo and mounts with the trim tab horn. If you follow the drawings, the servo and actuator rod don’t sit in the center of the cutout, nor will it align with the trim tab horn. I installed the trim tab plate into the skin and drew a line from the trim tab horn across the trim plate. Then measured the distance of the line on the plate and drew a line on the underside. I traced the outline of the trim plate onto poster board, then clamped on the plate and extended the line on the plate across the poster board. I clamped the servo to the z brackets and lined up the actuator rod with the line on the poster board. Then I clamped the z brackets to the trim plate, removed the servo and match drilled thru the brackets and the trim plate. Clecoed everything together and checked fit in elevator—looks good to me. Took it all apart, deburred, dimpled and primed.
