Brief Description: Begin lower intersection fairings
I received the lower intersection fairings from RV Bits yesterday. Today, I began the fitting process. Out of the box, these fairings fit pretty darn well. I clamped the fairings to the Grove gear and adjusted for best fit. I drew a line around the outside so each time I removed the fairing, I could position them in the same spot. I marked two locations near the front for attachment holes then removed the fairings. I drilled the two locations to #41 and installed again. I drilled thru these holes into the wheel pants and clecoed. I marked for the next two holes, removed the pants, drilled to #41 and reinstalled the fairings. I match drilled for the two center holes, then went thru this same exercise for the aft two holes. Both left and right sides are now attached with clecos. I am following the build log of Chris Cook, and plan to leave the fairings as one piece secured to the pant with nutplates and screws. Next, I need to build up a transition between the edge of the fairing and the pant. It seems that fiberglass work just never ends!
