Brief Description: Glassed holes on R. tip, drilled hinge L. skin
I sanded the inside of the right fiberglass tip where the “errant” holes were located and mixed up some resin along with a scoop of flox. I added some clear packing tape to the outside of the tip over the holes to keep the resin from dripping through. Then, I applied a blob over each one of the holes on the inside. While this was curing, I measured and cut the hinge pieces for the left wing tip. I clamped the p4 (wide hinge piece) to the top portion of the skin. I spaced it out 1/8” so that the hinge will lay inside the glass tip. I drilled thru the skin into the hinge piece, clecoing and clamping as I moved down the wing. After the top side, I clamped another p4 hinge to the bottom side of the wing and began match drilling the hinge.
