Brief Description: Deburr wing & fuse-match drill tank attach bracket
I spent much of the day re-arranging and re-positioning the shop. After that task was completed, I finished up the tank attach brackets. When I fit them to the fuse with the wings on, I had drilled pilot holes to #30. I used locking clecoes to clamp down the upper hole, while drilling the lower hole to #13, followed by a reamer. After the lower hole was drilled, I inserted the bolt and cranked it down really tight. Then drilled out the top hole. Repeat for the other side. I removed and deburred all the holes. Then I drilled a 1/16” hole in the bracket to be used as an anchor for the safety wire. Next, I deburred all the holes previously drilled for the wing root & flap fairings—both on the wings and the fuse. I discovered I had missed a hole on the lower aft skin—yikes! I’ll make up a transfer strip to screw to the wing skin and match drill –then I’ll screw the strip to the lower fuse skin and match drill.
