Brief Description:  Trimmed L fwd fairing, match drilled flap fairing

I removed the left forward wing root fairing and trimmed it to give the 3/16” clearance. Around the gear area it was very hard to measure, which resulted in removing, filing, re-attaching and checking about a dozen times to get the proper clearance. Next, I removed the flap pushrods, the flap weldment, the aft baggage floor and the cockpit floor. Then I re-installed the flap weldment and flap pushrods. I added a thin washer under each nylon block of the flap weldment to simulate the thickness of the floor. I re-checked the flap/aileron alignment several more times just for grins. Then, I taped the F-872PP flap fairings in position. I climbed inside the cockpit armed with a right angle drill attachment. Nancy held a block of wood against the fairing while I drilled with a #40 bit. As each hole was drilled, Nancy stuck a cleco in. Tomorrow, I plan to work on the fairings to get a fit against the fuse.
