Brief Description:  Snrokel and #2 baffle work-2

After much deliberation, I think I have a plan for the outboard mounting of the filter bracket. I started by cutting off the thin strip of the outside and forward edge of the air ramp and cutting about 3/8” off of the front side of the snorkel. Next, I trimmed the inlet of the lower cowl back .3”. Now, I am able to get the lower cowl on and off while the #2 baffle assembly is in place—probably need some final trimming when I install the air seal under the lip of the cowl inlet, but close enough for now. Next, I cut off part of the lower edge of the #2 side baffle so that it would fit over the outboard filter bracket. I’ll bend some stock to form an angle which I can rivet to the outside of the side baffle and attach with nutplates and screws to the filter bracket. I’ll also fab an angle to attach on the inside of the side baffle for the filter hold down.
