Brief Description: Rivet nutplates to spinner backing plate
I removed the prop—not a big deal. Removed the bolts holding the rear backing plate on. I deburred all of the #40 and #19 holes in the plate, then squeezed in twenty eight NAS1097 rivets to attach the 14 nutplates. I clecoed the two gap filler plates to the backing plate and drilled them up to 1/8” and reamed to #30. Removed the filler plates and machine c/s. Then I squeezed in four of the AN426AD4-5 rivets. I reinstalled the backing plate and torqued to 22 foot pounds. Attached the prop to my hoist and moved it into position. I spent about an hour and just couldn’t get it lined up to get all the bolts started. Got tired and frustrated, besides the heat and humidity was siginificant--decided to make a fresh start in the morning.
