I’ve been gone for over a week, but back to work on getting the plane ready for inspection. Today, I got a bunch of calibration done on the Dynon. I moved the plane out of the hangar and got the compass calibration done—involves point the plane at the 4 cardinal points on a compass and pushing a button—not real hard. While the plane was out and could see the sky, I verified that the transponder was acquiring satellites. Then, I moved the plane back inside the hangar and closed the doors for the AOA/Static calibration—not supposed the have any air movement over the pitot tube or the static ports. Next, I entered the airspeed limitations—I used numbers from another builders POA until I can fly and determine speeds for my plane. Then, I did the calibration on the auto pilot servos. The Dynon will command the elevator and ailerons. I set the override at 100% per Dynon manual and I can override the A/P, but takes some force to do it—I also verified my A/P disconnect button on the stick will disengage the A/P. Tomorrow, I plan to get the fuel tank calibration done as well as some other items.
